Old Glory

This is one of my favorite flag poems. While serving in the Missouri Army National Guard I met a fellow veteran. He had been with the 1st Cav in Vietnam. As I had been with the Cav in the Persian Gulf we got to talking. We got to talking about veteran's issues and patriotism and such when he pulled out an old Ann Landers article that he had folded in his wallet. It was this little story about our flag. I started using it when I speak on Flag Etiquette at our local school. More than once tears have been shed when I recited it.
