Memorial Day
CHRISTIAN AMERICAN VETERANS

"A man good enough to shed his blood for his country is good enough to receive a square deal afterwards..." Theodore Roosevelt

This page is dedicated to all who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for this great nation. Thanks to their selfless service we in America can enjoy the freedoms that we often take for granted.

They gave up their tomorrows so that we could enjoy ours. It is just fitting and proper that we take a few moments to remember them. We honor them by doing so.

We need to ensure that these brave souls are not forgotten. I believe we owe it to them to teach our children about the sacrifices made by our veterans and those who are even now standing watch over us.

On this page you will find poems, songs and other material that will honor the memory of those who gave so much for this country. Jesus said it best, Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”

I thank God for our veterans and our troops! May he always watch over them and keep them safe.

Tony and his history class at Old Sarepta Cemetery 2005

As some of you know, I host a Memorial Day service each year in Brookfield and I am always looking for good patriotic music. Well, I got a call from Tony Mullins who told me about a song he had written. I went to the site and listened...it is outstanding!

Tony has recorded a Memorial Day song that you just have to hear! It is an excellent Christian-Patriotic song.

You can listen to it and download it at  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_klwtm67ogg

My thanks to tony for sharing that song with me!

Memorial Day 2006 & 2007

Focus on Veterans has been placing flags at local Brookfield cemeteries since 2000. In the photo on the left are the volunteers who helped place those flags this year. Left to right are: Terry W. Cashatt, Joyce Cashatt, Lauraine Garten, Emily Batson, Daniel Grob, Johnathan Smith, Warren Hartley, Logan Lisby, Bethany Cashatt and Ron Cashatt.

Here we see Daniel Grob (foreground) and Logan Lisby place flags at Park Lawn while Joyce Cashatt looks on. With the help of these great volunteers we were able to place 850 flags on Saturday, 20 May 2006. I am especially impressed by the dedication of our youth who volunteer to assist each year!

Pastor Ron Adrian of Freedom Baptist Church delivers the devotion in the photo on the left.
